Cooking Through Our Collection

More than a thousand cookbooks

We started out with a couple hundred cookbooks simply from our love of food and cooking. When we moved into our first home we put all the cookbooks onto shelves and realized we had the starts of collections that we wanted to finish and a passion for the inspiration we get from cookbooks. And there it all started - our collection is now over 1,300 cookbooks and still growing!

Our collection consists of cookbooks we’ve bought ourselves (both new and used), cookbooks we’ve received as gifts, and cookbooks that have been passed through family.

Cooking through our ever growing collection

As a former professional chef (husband) and an amateur in the kitchen (wife) we wanted to catalog our collection and our journey cooking and baking through it.

“You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.”

—Julia Child

Our oldest cookbook was published in 1902.

We buy most of our cookbooks from antique stores, but have also bought from thrift shops, estate sales, and used book stores.
